SHTF EAST TENNESSEE FLOOD (NO POWER NO WATER) ROADS BLOCKED

As expected, the water supply has started to run dry for residents of Greene County, but officials announced today that water distribution points are being opened.

Those who live north of the river can go to the Greeneville/Greene County Municipal Airport from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Sunday. The Greeneville Police Department will be checking for IDs showing Greene County residency. All traffic will come in from 11-E to the Baileyton Access Ramp to White House Road and to Airport Road. Traffic exiting will travel Airport Road to the Kingsport Highway. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this.

Residents south of the river can go to one of the following sites:

Marathon Quick Stop Market – 3685 Erwin Highway
Camp Creek Volunteer Fire Department – 2136 Camp Creek Road
South Greene High School – 7469 Asheville Highway
St. James Convenience Center – 15 St James Road at the intersection of the Newport Highway
An additional distribution site will be set up at Scepter on Pottertown Road once the infrastructure is in place.

This water distribution is for Greene County residents only. You will be required to show an ID showing Greene County residency. If you have recently moved here, you can bring a utility bill showing your service address.

Chuckey Utility District is providing water at the south end of Earnest Bridge on Chuckey Pike and at the Farmer’s Daughter. Bring a 20 gallon container.

These water distributions are for DRINKING WATER only and there may limits.
